Debbie Junkel

Debbie has been in the Real Estate business since 1983, receiving her Real Estate license and Broker’s license in the state of Illinois.  She worked in Illinois for 7 years before she and her husband, Bob, returned home to Kenosha, where they were both born, raised and educated.  Along with selling/listing properties in Illinois, Debbie Is the Past President of the Illini Valley Board of Realtors and served on numerous state committees such as: Board of Directors, Legislative Committee, License Law Sub-committee, RPAC and others. On the local level in Illinois, Debbie served as Chairman of the RPAC committee, Chairman of the Social Committee, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and President. Debbie is a life time member of the Illinois Million Dollar Club and one of only 5 Real Estate Associate to be nominated for Associate of the Year. Debbie earned her ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and GRI (Graduate of the Real Estate Institute).

Debbie and her family moved back to Kenosha in 1990 where she received her Wisconsin Broker license and started her Real Estate career with Bear Realty.  In 2002 she opened Junkel & associate, closing her office in 2011 when her husband, Bob, retired from Snap-on Tools after 40 years and returned “home” to Bear Realty.

Debbie is the daughter of the late Dr. Richard and Audrey Ashley and the late Mrs. Mary Frost Palmer Ashley. Debbie is one of seven children with two step sisters and a step brother.  She credits her parents for instilling in her, honesty, integrity, fairness, the importance of family and the ability to stand up for what she believes in.  Debbie has been married to Bob since 1968.  They have three married sons, Bob and Anna with two daughters, Olivia and Gianna, Tony and Rachel with two sons, Anthony and Andrew, and Joseph and Melissa with one son, Bobby. Debbie’s first joy is spending time with her family. She also enjoys golfing, camping, and reading.

Debbie believes strongly in our Code of Ethics and practices it daily. She has 31 years of experience selling all forms of Real Estate, residential, multi-family, commercial, vacant land, and custom home building.  She takes pride in her accomplishments and the service she provides to both sellers and buyers.  Debbie believes in taking her clients through the entire process, from searching for a property, writing an offer, to a successful closing. Debbie believes when you choose her to represent you, you get her, not an assistant.
